$30,000 Amateur Owner Hunter Classic Victory
Goes to Tracy Scheriff & Lavari

The Zimmerman Advertising Invitational $30,000 Amateur Owner Hunter Classic was won by Tracy Scheriff and Lavari at the CN Winter Equestrian Festival Sunday.

The pair posted the top score of 157 points in the International Ring at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.

Scheriff of Ramsey, N.J. and her 12-year-old bay gelding scored 72 in the first round and 85 in the second.

Ramsey and Lavari ride with trainer Havens Schatt of Ocala, Fla. This is the first time this season for the pair to compete in the big ring, though they competed in the Hunter Spectacular in 2007.

"I really enjoy the big field," Tracy said. "I was a little nervous in the first round, the second I was more relaxed and we went how we normally go, so I was lucky.

"He never cares and is so rideable. He kind of peaked in the first class but the second class he was perfect. I like this (the Invitational) it gives a different goal to shoot for besides circuit champion. To make the top 12 riders of the circuit compete together makes it a fun class."
