Benefit Raffle for Make A Wish Foundation

HITS OCALA is hosting a special Benefit Raffle at Post Time Farm this season.

Ariat handbags, donated by Winning Edge Tack Shop, hold special edition copies (autographed by several famous equestrians) of “Beloved Sport Horses" by children's author, Sharon Miner, of Williston, Florida.

Also included are donations from local businesses. Ten bags will be raffled and tickets are $5 each with all proceeds to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Central and Northern Florida. The drawing will be held on March 2nd during The Talking Phone Book’s Kids Day at HITS OCALA Grand Prix Ring, Post Time Farm, Rt. 27.

“Kids Day is always one of the most popular events at HITS. The afternoon is full of family fun and entertainment,” states the website. “This popular event includes a bounce house, clowns, music and special exhibitions. The Ocala Recreation and Parks will be on-site with arts and craft stations, science discovery centers and many other activities geared toward children.”

Sharon Miner will also be holding a book signing with her six books for middle grade readers and older children. Other donations in the bag are from: Winning Edge Tack Shop, Florida Horse.Com, Carmichael’s Café, Klover Leaf Tack, WalMart and more.

Tickets for the Benefit Raffle are available every Sunday at the HITS Grand Prix Ring where the author will hold book signings. They will also be available during business hours at Winning Edge Tack Shop located on Rt. 27 in Ocala.

“Beloved Sport Horses” features thirty horses in a variety of competitions and explains the special bonds between them and their riders, including several equestrians from Florida.

Tracy Bartko Magness , the leading Grand Prix rider of the HITS OCALA 2007 season, describes how her horse, 'Paul Harvey', helped her choose riding as a profession.

Both women have autographed the books. Disciplines featured include Western, Racing, Dressage, Fox Hunting, Polo, Eventing, Show Jumping and others.
