The First Highlife Cup Is Success

February 2004– Orlando, FL –

If you live in Central Florida and ride Dressage, you are very familiar with the Clarcona Horseman’s Park. You are also probably very familiar with the horseshows that take place there year after year. In 2004, there was a new twist to start the year off right, The Highlife Cup! 2 rings, 3 days, tons of excitement!

As an annual horse show in it’s first year, The Highlife Cup, formally know as the Snowbirds Paradise, held January 30 – February 1, 2004 brought more attention to this January show than ever before. Despite the rainy conditions, the show roster was filled with 127 horses registered for the competition with over 100 riders! Substantial prize monies were a large part of the draw for the show. The Highlife Cup is one of only a few shows in Central Florida to offer such large awards for the talented competitors.

After a weekend full of competition, Sunday brought a bit of sun and the Highlife Cup awards ceremony. Highlife Farms owners and show sponsors, Kenneth and Joan Sims were on hand to congratulate the winners and to present the Highlife Cup perpetual Trophy. Taking Champion was Silke Rembacz on Millenium and Sabine Schut-Kery on Tinus PM took Reserve Champion.

In addition to the Highlife Cup, owners, riders, grooms, officials and competition staff were treated to a night of food, fun and music at the Highlife Farms facility as they hosted the traditional Friday night sponsor party. A full buffet and bar were perfect compliments to one of Orlando’s best party bands, Wings of Sound. The entertainment went well into the evening and everyone had a blast!

As 1 of 3 in Central Florida USET Qualifying Competitions for the 2004 USET Grand Prix Championship, Olympic Selection Trials, 2004 USET Intermediaire 1 Championship as well as the Official USDF Region 3 Qualifying Competition for the 2004 North American Young Riders Championships and the Great American/USDF Region 3 Championships, the Highlife Cup was and will continue to be, one of the most sought after shows in Central Florida.
