Oh Canada! Maple Leafs Get the Gold at Dressage at Devon Can Am Challenge

Devon, PA (October 6, 2004) -

Canada clinched the Gold Medal in the Can Am Challenge at the 2004 Dressage at Devon Horse Show, while the US came in Second winning Silver. Two Canadian and two US teams of three horses and riders each participated. Team scores were determined by adding up the individual scores each rider earned in the Prix St Georges and Intermediaire I classes.

EH?, the Gold Medal team from Canada, included Olympian Ashley Holzer with Gambol, and Tom Dvorak with two mounts, Beaumarchais and West Side Lady.

The Silver Medal USA Independence Team included Silke Rembacz with Millennium, Michael Shondel with Wallaby and Kim Barteau with Liberty.

Also in the competition were Canada's Mapleleaf Team with Stephanie Jeffrey on Belcanto, Jessica Costello on Litmanen and Andrea Bresee on Raffles, and the USA Freedom Team comprised of Kristy Truebenbach Lund with Nice Catch, Susanne Hamilton with Rachmaninow III and Susan Jaccoma with Harmony's Weismuller.

The Can Am Challenge was originated at Dressage at Devon in 1993, and continued annually through 1998. It returned to the show this year after a brief hiatus.

The 30th annual Dressage at Devon Horse Show ran from September 28th through October 3rd. The 2005 show is planned for September 27th through October 2nd. Complete results of the 2004 show and more information about Dressage at Devon can be found at www.dressageatdevon.org
